From the last blog we have the experience that fried chicken should be done as tradition dictates... FRIED IN OIL! But roast chicken is another world and today we are going to make it in our Air Fryer.
Hello everyone, today we will prepare what I hope will be the fastest rotisserie chicken ever with the help of the Air Fryer.
Ingredients
1 small whole chicken (size is important because if the chicken is too big it won't fit inside the Air Fryer or it could burn if it touches the heating element)
Vegetable oil
Salt to taste
1 tbsp oregano
1/3 tsp rosemary
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp cumin
4 cloves of garlic
1 white onion
1 beer
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 lemon
1 orange
washed and peeled potatoes
colored peppers
white or red onion
Preparation
Start the night before or at least two hours before preparing your chicken, salting it very well all over. Brush the chicken first with oil so that the salt adheres well. I recommend that you also put a little salt between the skin of the chicken and the meat, in this way the chicken will absorb part of the salt and it will be more tasty. Let it rest in the fridge.
Prepare the rub with the oregano, rosemary, thyme and cumin powder, crush everything very well and reserve.
In a blender add four cloves of garlic, one onion, one beer and 1/4 cup of soy sauce. Blend everything very well.
Remove your chicken from the fridge and coat it on all sides with the mixture you just made. do not forget the internal part of the chicken since it is where it will absorb all the flavors the most.
Cut half a lemon and half an orange into very thin slices and insert them into the cavity of the chicken. this will help us aromatize it. Brush the ground spices all over the chicken, including the cavity where the lemon and orange are.
Cut into thick wedges some potatoes, peppers and onions. Put it all in the Air Fryer and don't forget to add some of the sauce. Place your Air Fryer at 195ºC for 25 minutes or until the internal temperature of the breast is 72ºC (180ºC por 57 min). We recommend that you turn the chicken every 7 minutes so that the skin browns evenly.
Please don't forget about the chicken juices left under the Air Fryer rack...it's liquid GOLD. The potatoes are super delicious, the chicken was super juicy and soft, well done in the center. Definitely spectacular!
